Recent and Upcoming Commentaries

  • Commentary on (TBD) at the 2022 Pacific APA

    • This commentary will be offered on (TBD) by (TBD) during the Symposium on Relational Equality and Vulnerability at the 2022 Pacific APA.

  • Commentary on Desiree Lim's "Internal Restrictions on Movement: A Reconsideration" at the 72nd Annual NW Philosophy Conference

    • This was a commentary on Desiree Lim’s paper in which she argued for limited restrictions on internal mobility. The paper will be presented at Portland State University in November 2021.

  • Commentary on Megan Blomfield's "Who is Responsible for the Climate Change Problem?" at the Ben Rabinowitz Environmental Ethics Workshop.

    • This commentary engaged with Megan Blomfield’s argument for an extended analysis of “contribution” to the problem of climate change. Rather than merely consisting in emitting greenhouse gasses, we also contribute to the problem of climate change by contributing to vulnerability to climate harms. This involves rendering people susceptible to poverty, political instability, relocation, and a lack of mobility.

  • Commentary on Christina Friedlaender's "Ideal Theory and Shared Intentions" at the Tennessee Philosophical Association

    • This commentary was delivered at the 2018 TPA meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. Christina Friedlaender critically engaged with the standard account of shared intentions, arguing that it includes pernicious abstractions and false idealizations about the capacities of agents in the real world.
